Rated 4 out of 5 by versatile with even heat This pot was picked after a long selection process. It is a dutch oven, a braising pan, a pasta pot, a non-stick bread pan ( if you follow Jaques Pepin) and a very good deep fryer, all-in-one. Even heating, and the handles are cool enough without the "silicon covers" that can melt in a high heat situation. Love everything but one small glitch; the glass lid has a rim that fits inside the pot for a tight seal, but is a bit too fragile. It came slightly "pinched" in shipping. It did not effect the great design of this pot, but dissapointed me, as the pot is very sturdy in every other way. I'll still recommend it...but hope the manufacturer improves the lid rim for others....I'll just treat my lid very gently. 04/07/2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by keep adding to the set I already bought the 11pc. set and liked it so much, that I bought the 5 qt. Dutch oven which is a must. It is the "middle-of-the road" size. It's not too big or too small. The hard anodized finish on the inside and outside is what I especially like. It cleans so easily and there are never any residue water marks. As far as the cooking, it heats very well on the stove and in the oven. It reminds me of a crock pot. There is hardly any tending to while heating. Also, the lids fit so snug, you never hear a noisy one. I am going to treat myself to another pot for Christmas. 11/06/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this dutch oven This is my first dutch oven, so I spent considerable time researching my options at various stores on-line before making my purchase. I chose to buy this product because for the price, it had the best features. In particular, I like that the bottom is smooth and flat so that it works well on my glass cooktop. It is made out of cast aluminum so the pan is not too heavy to lift, even when filled with food. The non-stick surface makes it easy to clean. The non-stick surface is also safe to use with metal utensils so no worries about possibly contaminating your food with toxic stuff when you are scraping that last bit of sauce out of the pan. A max. oven rating of 500 degrees means you have some flexibility with the types of recipes that you can do with this pan (e.g. roasting meats at higher temperatures). I gave it only 4 of 5 stars for Style because of the metal handles on the lid and the pot itself. They get very hot during cooking on the stove, such that you need to use a pot holder or dish towel to hang onto the pot while cooking. 03/22/2011
