My wife and I were so excited to get the Power Pressure Cooker XL. We used it the same night that it was delivered.
The cooker does not come with an extensive cookbook. Most of the meals have been by trial and error.
Meals such as pasta, rice and beans are very quick and tasty. Meatier dishes require more time. Just remember, the bigger the piece of meat, the longer you must keep it in. I tried cooking a frozen chicken and although it was not frozen in the 20 minutes that it cooked, it wasn't cooked completely next to the bone. An extra 10 minutes did the trick.
The seasoning is thoroughly cooked into the dishes and they taste great! Don't be disappointed if the meal is a bit soggy. It is a pressure cooker not an oven.

I just got my PPCXL, and have tried it only one time, but I love it and can't wait to make so many meals with this thing. It takes some getting used to, with figuring out the settings, but if you follow the instructions, it's pretty simple. I threw some frozen butterfly pork chops in with some potatoes and seasonings, and in 25 mins the chops were tender and very tasty!

I was excited to find this electric pressure cooker/canner and was looking forward to canning some vegetables. Stupid me....I expected that when the box says it can be used as a canner, I thought it was ready to go. However, there is a metal rack that fits in the bottom of the pot and must be used to set the jars on for canning. This metal rack is not included with the canner and must be purchased on line. I could not find any store that sold this item to also sell the accessories that go with it. I froze the vegetables I had wanted to can that day....very disappointed!

I've cooked 4 meals using the pressure cook option and 1 meal using the slow cook option. It is a good piece of equipment overall. however, I feel like it's trial and error when cooking with this. Most of the meat came out hard by both pressure and slow methods.
PROS: ultra quick to make meals. large space. multifunctional. easy to use. price is decent with kohl's cash and discounts.
CONS: meat comes out dry (might be my fault because I don't know how to use this yet). heavy piece of equipment. smell of food cooked lingers even after several wash. aluminum pieces are thin and feels cheap.
I would recommend this product if you need to crank out some quick meals. I'm still experimenting with it, so hopefully there will be some improvements with the quality of meat cooked in here.
