Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great connection between literacy & arts / crafts We have received several of these story / craft kits for review and what I love about each is how DIFFERENT the crafts are in each kit. This particular craft has a growth chart and a mobile to make. What is also great about the kits is how some of the crafts will last a long while after they are completed! So this isn't just a once use toy - parents and teachers can really extend the play and learning over many days and weeks, returning again and again to explore the story in different ways. I love how the crafts also feature boys engaging with literacy and crafts, as usually these kinds of toys are geared more towards girls. The green box and pictures of boys on the front (for some of the kits) draw my boys in and make reading something "boys do" too! I received this item free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun hands on craft! This is such an amazing book/craft set. Not only did my little one love listening to the book, he enjoyed doing the crafts too. Even my older children took part in executing the final touches on the mobile. I would highly recommend this kit. It comes in it's own travel box which makes it perfect for "on the go" adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Educational and Fun Craft and Book Kit! As a teacher and a mom of two kids under age 7, I loved what this kit included. The kit appealed to both of my daughters, ages 6 and 3. My 6 year old daughter wants to grow up to be an artist, so integrating drawing was a perfect fit for her. Since I homeschool my 3 year old, it's important that she has some creative time every day. She had fun getting to color the giant for the mobile. The only suggestion I would have is for instructions for how to make the mobile to be more clear, but other than that, it was a really neat way to teach my children this classic story! We also loved the extra suggestions. We can't wait to make our own lima bean with a castle in the sky. Disclosure I received a free item, but it in no way influenced my opinion!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mess free and easy I love to get crafty with my kids, but after coming home from work all I want to do is read a story and hang out. This is perfect because as my daughter is doing homework my son can also do something fun and with me. My son is now obsessed with Jack and the beanstalk and since the growth chart is simple and mess free we had it colored and up on the wall in no time. He wants to be measured everyday and has been talking about Jack climbing the beanstalk. I love that he got so into it. The fact that there's a second craft is a big bonus because we worked on that the next time we read the story. His favorite was the beanstalk, but he had fun coloring the mobile. A great way to connect with my son and put together gross and fine motor skills with reading. Disclaimer: I was provided a sample in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
