Rated 2 out of 5 by from I returned my Force for this? I originally had the Fitbit Force, but they stopped supporting it because some people had reactions to the band. They offered refunds so I sent mine back and bought the Alta to replace it. Big mistake. You CANNOT read this screen outside unless you are in full shade. This is a deal breaker for me. I use my Fitbit to monitor my steps and distance on my daily walks, and I can no longer do that. Not to mention I can't even tell the time when outside! I never had that problem with the Force. If you plan to use your device outdoors, do yourself a favor and pass on the Alta.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good look, but hard to put on. Really like the style of the Alta compared to the Charge. I like the smaller size. I also like the features. But the big problem for me is actually getting it on my wrist in the morning. Not sure if this is a design problem or just an issue with my band, but it is extremely difficult to get the little metal knobs into the holes on the band. The band slips around and you almost have to use your fingernail to push the band into the metal bits to get it on. Almost break my nails every time I put it on. Frustrating. Such an issue for me that I would have given it 5 stars if not for the difficulty putting it on. BTW, I have no issues with my dexterity :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving my Fitbit Alta I have worn this for a week now. I work full time in an office as a title clerk, so I am sitting for 8+ hours. It was a rude awakening to see how little I walk in a day. I have my Fitbit set to remind me to move every hour if I have not taken at least 250 steps/hr. I now find myself volunteering to run the mail downstairs, getting up to file, or I just walk a few laps around the office. It challenges me to park farther away, go for a walk in the evening, and anything else that will let me get extra steps in. The only thing that I dislike is the rubber band. It is hot and makes my wrist itchy. I will be ordering the leather band soon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Alta This is now my third Fitbit product since 2011. I owned two fitbit ones and had a tendency to wash them as I wore them clipped to my bra. The alta has solved that problem. It is not waterproof so I remove it to wash dishes or shower. Otherwise it is on my wrist. The streamlined look is nice. To activate you tap it on the side to move thru the dashboard. I love the notifications. Regarding the bands. The normal bands are a bit stiff and are difficult to secure at first. The fix is to place a light coat of olive oil on the holes. This allows the pins to glide thru the holes -I only did this once and the issue was solved. Go For it!!
