Rated 5 out of 5Â by SavvyCat Takes Some Getting Used To
It's different from your average can opener, and it takes a little bit to get used to using it. But the real turning point was when I ordered some hard-to-find soup online. Some of the cans arrived severely dented on the top edge and no ordinary can opener would be able to get into, and they had stacking bottoms that it couldn't grab on to. I decided to give it a try with the Oxo, and to my surprised it did it! Since it works by cutting the outside rather than inside the on the top, it had no problem.

I love this super-safe, super-quiet, so easy to open a can... hand-held opener. I love 'no sharp edges' and the kids think it's absolutely amazing!! I only gave 4 stars for 'style' as it is somewhat 'bulky' and I'm still actually looking for the 'right' storage place, cause it just does not fit in my utensil drawer :-)
and although it does do everything it states it does, I gave it 3 stars for 'value'
...just felt it was a little pricey for a can opener, but still I'm very happy w/ the $'s invested :)

I got this one because my electic can opener broke. I had an electic one because I could not really open any of the cans on my own with a mechanical ones that I had. And I had several of those. So, I decided to buy a new electric one, started shopping on Kohls.com and found this one along with several other products and an electric one. I read the reviews and wanted to try it. I thought, if I do not like it (or just can not open the can without the help of my husband), I would just return it and get an electric one as I planned. As some of other reviewers here, I could not believe not only how easy it was to turn the wheel, but also whether this opener was really openning anything. To my amusement, the cut was so clean, and the process was quick and easy. I think it is a little pricy but the quality is very good.

I always used an electric can opener, but lately I can not find one that will last past 2 years. I have arthritis in my hands so the electric one used to do the trick. This can opener has a larger handle to twist which helps a lot. It opens the cans on the side so there are no sharp edges. I think the cost is a little high for a manual can opener, but it works for me!
