Rated 5 out of 5Â by SavvyCat Takes Some Getting Used To
It's different from your average can opener, and it takes a little bit to get used to using it. But the real turning point was when I ordered some hard-to-find soup online. Some of the cans arrived severely dented on the top edge and no ordinary can opener would be able to get into, and they had stacking bottoms that it couldn't grab on to. I decided to give it a try with the Oxo, and to my surprised it did it! Since it works by cutting the outside rather than inside the on the top, it had no problem.

I love this super-safe, super-quiet, so easy to open a can... hand-held opener. I love 'no sharp edges' and the kids think it's absolutely amazing!! I only gave 4 stars for 'style' as it is somewhat 'bulky' and I'm still actually looking for the 'right' storage place, cause it just does not fit in my utensil drawer :-)
and although it does do everything it states it does, I gave it 3 stars for 'value'
...just felt it was a little pricey for a can opener, but still I'm very happy w/ the $'s invested :)

This can opener was a little pricey, but I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Once you read the easy directions, it is very easy to use. I really like that there are not any sharp edges. A couple of times, I had to go around twice to make sure that it did the cutting since it is difficult to detect. Once you get the hang of it, you will really like the easy. And, it does not get messy the way a traditional can opener does.
