For the past 8+ years, when I wanted curls I used my hot rollers. After wanting some looser waves and getting a gift card for a gift, I decided to treat myself. I chose this reasonably priced larger curling iron and am totally impressed. I love how quickly it heats up (30 seconds) and how it can dry your damp hair as you curl with the built-in steam vents. As an added bonus, you also get a heat shield cover in case you have to dash it away in a suitcase quickly after use or keep it out of little hands.

I'm sorry to say that I threw away my receipt so I cannot return this item. This curling iron burned some of my hair off! After a couple of uses I noticed that strands and sections of my hair were only about 2" in length when my hair is actually past my shoulders. I used this curling iron at my roots in order to give volume to my crown... but instead I now have spiky strands and sections that are less than 2" long. Do NOT buy this curling iron if you fine hair.

I have many textures of hair and this iron works well on all of them. It heats in seconds, not minutes, so when I forget to pre-warm it, I can still curl my hair before I head out the door. The exact temp settings are nice too. I found out I can use the lowest heat setting for the best curl and avoid extra damage. The "cool" tip is adequate without burning.

What can I say? I don't like to spend a lot of money on hair products, but this fit the criteria I was looking for in a curling iron. Quality (Conair seldom disappoints), affordable, and it has features of a much more expensive product. Ceramic, heat range selections, even a cover to protect it. It heats up quickly and works very well. Will it last? Don't know yet, but I'm willing to bet it will!
