I have this set and love the style. After using for 2 years, I started experiencing the 'rust' issue. Not horrible, but irritating. I did some research and found that the 18/0 rating on this set means there is NO nickel in the stainless steel. Nickel is what helps prevent the rust. If you want more rust resistance, look for an 18/8 or 18/10 rating (18 represents the chromium and the second number represents the ratio of nickel to the chromium. A nickel rating of 10 will provide more rust resistance)
In the meantime - make sure you totally dry this flatware after washing. It's dishwasher safe, but my habit of letting the dry cycle take care of drying the flatware was/is probably not the best choice for preventing the irritating rust spots that show up.

It took me quite awhile to find everyday flatware that I liked! This set is exactly what I was looking for. The size of the teaspoons and soup spoons were important to me. Many sets have gigantic soup spoons, and teaspoons are the size a soup spoon should be!. For my taste, this set is just right. The fork tines are sturdy, not thin and easily bent. The knife has a serrated edge. All pieces are a good weight and fit comfortably in your hand when eating! I have been using this set for 6 to 8 months and all pieces still look brand new. I have no idea why a previous reviewer is having rust issues with her set. I am not experiencing any issues!

I bought this set to expand my Oneida flatware set that my Mom had bought for me in 1994 but had since been retired as a pattern. I am so happy with this addition - the Colonial Boston is a very beautiful yet simple design, has a nice weight to it, and this set comes with some nice additions like the sugar spoon and butter knife. I recommend it!

I have always trusted Oneida always heard great things. My husband and I recently married and we purchased this set after our wedding. I cleaned the flatware and we have begun to use them for approximately 1 month now. The knives have already started showing rust on the handle section just at the base of the blade. What a joke. At least the cheap flatware we had before took 2 years to rust.
