Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a quality piece. The Chaps Duvets are designed to go with the Chaps Home Down-Alternative Comforter as the inner fill. All 4 interior corners of the Duvet have generous ties that tie into into the outer corner loops pictured on the Chaps comforter insert that you buy separately, securing the fill in-place. Why doesn't Kohls give complete product descriptions? The Chaps comforter fill isn't even pictured among the coordinating items listed when you click on the Duvet cover. I think sales would greatly improve with thorough product descriptions and all coordinating items listed. The Duvet has plenty of buttons along the top side of the cover. The plaid side of the material folds over the main floral side and it looks very attractive. The buttons are large and clear. They look cute and don't bother when sleeping, even though they lay across the head side of the Duvet - They're still a couple inches or so from the very top. The plaid side of material is nice and smooth, while the floral side is less smooth, but quite sturdy and substantial. I found it comfortable. Overall, it is a heavier and substantial set. Ultimately, I found the fill Comforter to be too warm for my needs, but I seem to run hotter-than-normal at night. The inner Chaps Home Down-Alternative Comforter is truly warm and definitely mimics true down. I only tried it in the hopes that it wouldn't be as warm as actual down, but it is. I need something less warm and ended up going with the Chaps comforter. It's a bit more lofty than the Duvet combo, but less warm than the Duvet insert, which I prefer. I'm only worried about washing the Comforter and might opt to have it dry cleaned when needed (See my review about the Springs Comforter). All-in-all, it's a nicely made set and laundering the Duvet cover isn't a concern like it is with the comforter. It washed nicely - It came out of the dryer with some wrinkles, but they gradually disappeared when the comforter insert was attached & the bed was made soon after leaving the dryer. Some might want to use the Duvet and insert combo soley for looks or if they want warmer, down-like bedding. The fabric of the Comforter insert does make crinkle sounds, as other reviewers have noted, but it didn't really bother me, plus others say the crinkling sounds fade with time. To me, the fabric of the Comforter insert just seems so nice, smooth, and crisp. I really wish that a lighter warmth, but lofty Comforter fill was available from Chaps to go with the Chaps Duvet Covers. I would have opted for that. I also wish that Kohls would sell the bedskirts separately. Currently the bedskirts are only available with the comforter, which I don't understand. Why can't they include, or sell separately, the bedskirt if you want the Duvet/Comforter Insert combo? The shams are identical with both the Duvet or Comforter sets. I wish they had batting/more support for the outer edges, but they're still substantial, nicely trimmed, and they look good. I Hope all of these details help!
