Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color bled with first washing I hate to give such a beautiful comforter set such a low rating, but unfortunately it was unusable and had to be returned, and I wouldn't bother taking a chance on another of the same item. When I took everything out of the package, I absolutely loved it. I placed the comforter over my bed to make sure it looked as expected, and it was even better than I thought. The material was soft and the look was fabulous. My cat also gave it 2 paws up if his immediate kneading of the material was any indication. I went to wash everything before the first use, and this is where we ran into trouble. I realize the instructions suggest a commercial machine, but we have an extra large washer and dryer and I've never had trouble with king-sized comforters before. So I took a chance. Unfortunately this was a bad idea. First of all, the comforter overflowed my machine and I ended up with a soaking wet laundry room. Then, I realized the red in the comforter ran onto the lighter colors. And not just on the comforter either. I washed the pillow shams separately, and the color ran on those as well even though they were not in an overflowing machine. I took a chance and tried to wash the comforter again with stain removal and color catchers, but the color that bled would not come out. In fact, it bled even more. Then there was the problem with drying it. Again, with an oversized home dryer, this thing still did not fit very well, which meant it took forever to dry and I had to keep turning it when it would get caught up on itself. Not that it mattered since the color bled and I had already decided I wasn't keeping it. So although this was a beautiful and luxurious set, it had to be returned. Even aside from the color bleeding, I need something that I can wash at home. With 2 kids and pets, I need to be able to throw it in the washer whenever necessary and not have to shlep to the drycleaners every time there is a household mishap. Perhaps the drycleaners could clean it without the color bleeding, but a set that needs to be drycleaned every time is not functional. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think people who are looking to purchase a comforter set at this price point are looking to have to pay to have it cleaned every time.
