Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Beer For the Value. I bought this beer as my first beer to try, was a little nervous on trying to get the brewing process right. I watch a lot of youtube videos and the cd that came with my kit. Since then I brew it a lot and have just put another batch down. Now I'm considering on trying something new. I keep at least 4 to 5 batchs on standby in my basement. totally recommend. the beer has a light crisp refreshing taste, just as long as you don't rush it an follow all directions. I usually ferment mine for 2 weeks and bottle it for 2 week before I give it a try. totally recommend this one for a starter. Go For It! Live a Little and try mr beer American light. let me know what you all think. email me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My First Brew. This was a Christmas present from my parents. I am not a huge "light beer" fan but seeing as how I had never made my own beer I thought I would give it a shot. Fermented 2 weeks and bottled for 3 (seemed like forever) this beer was a big surprise to me. Cold, crisp and very refreshing with a very nice flavor. Much more flavor than the " commercial " light beers you can buy. Simple and easy introduction to the Mr. Beer world. Just finished bottling my "Octoberfestivus" and cant wait to try it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A bit too bland for me, but a good starting kit. I recently purchased a new LBK to run a few small batches while my all-grain brews were fermenting. This kit was included. If you're a fan of light beers, this is a keeper. If you prefer more complex flavors and body, it'll leave you hanging. At the time of this writing, the fermentation was two weeks in the LBK, then batch primed into 12 oz. glass bottles, for another 2 weeks to carbonate. I could see this being something to keep on hand when you've got a bunch of people coming over.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great taste - Pretty good for a first time! I picked up the LBK kit in a local store to try it out. I've made several wines at home but hadn't tried making beer. The American Light was the brewing extract that came with the kit. It turned out quite well although a bit under carbonated (I bought the 12 oz. bottles instead of the 16 oz. bottles). It may have been that the caps weren't tight enough but I still got a slight hiss when I unscrewed the caps. In any case, the beer tasted great and tasted a lot better than the American Light beers that are commercially made. I'm on to my next brew.
