Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after only 2 uses I used this thermometer twice, and it seemed to work fine. The 3rd time I used it the dial would not move at all on meat that had been cooking in the oven at 350 degrees for 2 hours. I tested it in boiling water to see if it would work, and it did not budge. It showed essentially 0 degrees. I would take it back for a refund, but I bought it a while ago and no longer have the receipt. This is a worthless item to have on hand. I would rate it a zero if that was an option - do not buy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't pass the boil test I broke my vintage meat thermometer, and they don't seem to make them anymore. I bought this as a replacement. Haven't used it with meat, but it did not reach the correct temperature in boiling water. And though I think the dial is big to make it easy to read, it makes the thermometer very top heavy. So I anticipate I'll have to prop it up on smaller cuts of meat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Food Network Meat Thermometer I bought this item because I wanted a thermometer that was easier to read than my circular one. I like the fact that the shaft is a smaller diameter than my other. The face is definitely larger than my circular one and I do find it easier to read. It obviously depends on the way you position the thermometer, in the meat, in the oven. I like it and I would buy it again.
