Rated 3 out of 5 by from Awkward to move on wood floors. I bought this sweeper because I had a purple Dyson Animal that I really liked. While the suction is fantastic I think the ball design makes the sweeper awkward to use on wood floors. The ball slides on the floor and makes it hard to guide the sweeper. The hose is very stiff and makes sweeping hard because the sweeper is constantly being pulled with the hose. The legs used to hold the sweeper upright sometimes allow the sweeper to fall over to the side and/or do not catch and lock in position allowing the handle to fall to the floor. I really like the way the sweeper cleans but it could be easier to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations I haven't had the Big Ball long but am thoroughly impressed with its abilities. Upon arrival, I vacuumed the whole house to see how it would work. Now, I normally vacuum fairly frequently. We do have a dog but children are all grown and out of the house. I'm embarrassed to admit how much debris the Dyson got out of the rugs. I would have sworn they were clean! My husband was a bit of sceptic about the Dyson and thought that our current vacuum was doing a good job. He was astonished at the results. So much so that he couldn't wait to try it himself!! I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine I bought this less than a week ago and I have vacuumed twice already. This is my second Dyson vacuum. I upgraded due to allergies. Pros: Powerful machine. I'm amazed at what it picks up. I really like the way the hand tools attach to this machine compared to my old DC07. Cons: The canister does not completely empty. Especially the hinge side of the bottom. I have to use my hand (or a bamboo skewer) to get all the fur out. Or just remove the clear canister. That kind of defeats the purpose of having an "allergy" machine. Also, having to lug a bag around with all the attachments is a pain. I spend half the time chasing down the black bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware if you have throw rugs! This machine would be great for someone who only has wall to wall carpeting. I have 2 Labradors that can't walk on hardwood or tile so I have throw rugs and the suction is too powerful. It grabs rugs with latex backing and jams the rotor bar. I was informed the old machines had a fix by taking out the rubber strip but this one doesn't have any fix. It was a very expensive lesson since I have a vacuum I can't use. Dyson should but a disclaimer that it doesn't work on throw rugs or mats of any type.
