Rated 2 out of 5 by from Slippage! This is a cushy mat with a great carrying bag, and has nice overall dimensions.  The serious shortcoming of this product is lack of grip which greatly affects the full extension of asana postures.  In yoga, one is constantly improving flexibility and extension, and this mat prevents me from the same level of extension I had with my previous mat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed- slippery I have been using my mat for about 2 months now, 3-4 times a week. It's so slippery even with the tiniest bit of sweat. I should not need to use a towel with it in a basic class. The mat should be tacky and prevent my hands and feet from slipping. I am no longer taking a risk with this mat because I don't want to injur myself. I'll use the mats privided by my studio until I find a more suitable mat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very pretty, POOR GRIP!!!!! I have Gaiam's Sol Dry-Grip black mat, which I love for its great gripping properties. I've been looking for a prettier mat with color for a while and suddenly fell in love with the color and design of this Citron Sundial mat. I took it to yoga class only twice and felt disappointed. From the first downward dog (before I even started sweating) I felt my feet and hands slowly slipping, very distracting for the practice. On the first day I went into the bridge pose and quickly stopped as I felt I was going to slip and hit the mat with my head. On the second day I didn't even attempt. And I don't usually sweat much, so make your conclusions. I practice yoga at an advanced level, but as I mentioned earlier, it felt slippery from the first down dog. You can wear yoga socks and gloves for better grip. I, personally, feel confined during yoga in socks and gloves but want to be barefoot and feel free and "flowy". I will mostly likely return this mat (even though I love the color and design!) and exchange for a plainer color, twice or more as expensive, but better grip mat, which is what truly matters to anyone during practice (unless you use it for meditations only). I will also never again go for a low-priced, poor grip/quality mat no matter how pretty it looks. I like Gaiam very much and definitely recommend their products. With this particular mat you just have to evaluation what you need it for, practice or meditation, other uses, and chose the right one for you. Hope this review has been helpful...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right! I switched to a thicker mat so I wouldn't have to use a blanket to pad my knees and this mat has just the right amount of cushion for my practice.
