I've been using Farberware for many years. In fact, I received my first 4 quart covered pan approximately 47 years ago. That pot is still going strong with almost daily use. However, before moving to Israel 7 years ago my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to new Farberware because we thought the quality was still excellent. What a mistake! My 12 quart covered stockpot now has a couple of small places where the stainless steel has worn through, revealing the dark inner layer. This is the pot I use least often - no more than 5 or 6 times a year. I never mistreat my cookware and keep it very clean. My old pot was (and still is) true quality. No more! How sad!

I got my first version of this pot when I got married in '87. Technically it still is humming along (it acquired a small dent that split the rim a 1/2" somewhere along the way but it didn't affect the use), it just has seen better days! Ordering a new one to retire the old workhorse for when I need a back up. I use this almost daily because it is a MUCH better pasta (the wider base allows the longer pastas to lay down and can handle 2 lbs at a time) and soup (again the wider base and 12QT capacity holds 2-3 chicken carcasses) pan than others I've tried.

I am really surprised by how much I like this pot. Perfect size, exactly what I was looking for. And my 8 quart farberware stockpot can fit inside for storage which is what I totally needed. The handles on the side of the pot gets a little warm but not too hot to handle. The handle on the lid does get hot so you would need a potholder for that. One of the best things I noticed about this pot which I've never seen on any other stockpot is that the inside is smooth, meaning no rivets on the inside. I always hated rivets inside. Glad to find out this pot didn't have them but is still very strong. Awesome, thanks farberware. And kohls for offering this.

I'd given away all my grandmother's stainless steel cookware last year (I'm 70) and discovered I needed a new stockpot. This is perfect. Even 3/4 full, I can still lift it and manage it. Leave it to Farberware!
