Rated 1 out of 5 by not good at all As a string educator, I can not recommend that anyone purchase this "instrument" except for use as a prop or decoration. This VSO (violin shaped object) is not properly set up, i.e. the bridge is not cut correctly, the pegs do not fit (in fact I've broken pegs on these instruments, trying the near-impossible task of tuning them), the fingerboard is not properly planed and the nut is not cut correctly. And...the strings are awful. To put this thing into nominally reasonable playing condition, one would have to spend aapproximately the original cost of the instrument at your local violin shop. Why not just go to a decent violin shop in the first place? You'll spend about the same amount, ultimately, and have a full-service store that can keep the violin in tip-top condition, not just sell it and forget it. 01/03/2015
