I've had the RC3 with GPS since April of 2013 and have used it consistently since then. I have never had any trouble with it other than it sometimes taking a couple of minutes to find the satellite, but my friend's Garmin does the same thing. This is my third Polar watch in the last 11 years and I have loved all three of them. I almost wish that something would go wrong so that I could justify buying a newer model to satisfy that 'new gadget' urge, but it is steady as a rock. I'll continue to use it until I find a new item that I absolutely cannot live without, and I can guarantee that will be a new Polar product.

I've had 2 other Polar's including one of the first ones offered and an RS200 I still own.
After 8 months of using my RC3GPS all the time here's my assessment:
Good: features, accuracy, size, battery life (contradicts other accounts but mine has been going strong); gray face easy to read
Not as Good: GPS lock takes about 2 minutes where I live on a tree lined driveway at 8,300 ft about sea level; can't customize the screens (minor as there are enough screens/info. to satisfy my needs; light not so bright as my aging eyes that need help ;)

I have been running with the unit since it came out. It has the quickest satellite capture rate and even when I am indoors, which allows be less time in adverse weather conditions outside before starting my run. With the fitness testing it gives me the most accurate calorie burn. In addition, my using polarpersonaltrainer.com I can set up my training runs based on distance/pace/heart rate or time. I have found this indispensable while training for half marathons and marathons. Thanks to Polar I have a reliable unit to train with.

Sent it back within 6 months due to not syncing with GPS and chewing through battery life. They found it defective. Within 9 months of the new set, the same EXACT thing is happening. When you send it in for warranty work--it takes 6 weeks or more, which is a long time to go without your gadgets. I'm going to look at another model or brand even though I have been a Polar loyalist for over a decade.
