Rated 5 out of 5 by Recaro is the best hands down I bought the Recaro Performance ride when my son turned 1. For the last year and a half he has been the happiest and most comfortable kid in this seat. We lived an hour from town and he has never complained about comfort and he loves riding in the car. He loves his seat. We just had our 2nd child and she is a premee so i had to go out a buy a car seat last second at 6 in the morning because the car seat i brought was not approved for under 5 lbs (she lost some weight). I could not believe the cheapness of the seat I had to buy and rely upon. I immediately ordered the Performance Coupe and I am looking forward to it arriving and knowing that my child will be comfy and Safe. 04/28/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Safe, comfortable and easy to use! We installed this car seat when my son was about 4 or 5 months old. He is a very tall boy who has been in the 90th percentile range since birth for height and he was quickly outgrowing the infant seat that we had been using. I was in love with this car seat as soon as we made the switch, it is easy to use, feels secure and keeps my son sitting more upright which he has always preferred to be. I always feel good knowing that he is in one of the safest car seats on the market. He is now 22 months old and still fits comfortably in this car seat, he has been forward facing for a few months now. There is still plenty of room for him to grow and continue using this seat! 01/27/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Safest car seat EVER! After much review by this picky momma, we decided on the Recaro Performance RIDE. I researched all of their safety factors and compared with other popular car seats that are on the market and the Recaro far surpasses it's competitors in the safety options category. I also love that my daughter can stay in this seat far longer than any of the others we looked into just to keep her safer longer! Be sure to check the weight limits on other seats when purchasing and you'll see this one lasts the longest. It also looks very nice and fits very comfortably into our Chevy Tahoe. We're looking into purchasing the same seat for our son next! 10/17/2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almosts perfect I've had two of these seats for about 2 years now and they are almost perfect. Here are some pro's and con's: Pro's: -Straps are adjustable without having to take the whole seat out of the car. Great for carpooling or just as your kid gets bigger. - the shoulder pads are attached at the top which keeps the straps from getting twisted. (We also have Britax seats and the straps are always twisted and tangled) - built in head cushions make for a comfy ride and I feel like it is safer for their little heads. - I find this seat much easier to get in and out of the car than our Britax seat. - Price. the price was great in comparison to some of the other car seats out there. From what I read at the time (2 yrs ago) the safety of this seat was on par with the highest level Britax seat, but was about $100 - $150 less (can't remember exact figures) Con's: - very hard to clean. Right after we got our seat we went on a road trip and my daughter got sick and threw up. It was very difficult to get the cover off to clean it, and not all of the cover comes off (I don't think the cover on the head cushions comes off). Once the seat had been cleaned it took my husband and my dad over an hour to get the cover back on. - sits up very high. this can be a pro or a con. My daughter has a great view of what's outside her window, which she loves, but when we put it in my parent's sedan with a low door opening, it is very hard to get her in and out - particularly when she was rear facing. It was fine in my Hyundia Sante Fe and now my Honda Odyssey. - cup holder. this might seem silly to mention, but the cup holder on this thing is terrible. It's seems like a complete afterthought. It can go on either side, which is nice, but it pokes out the front of the seat making it hard for little arms to reach and completely unusable in when the seat is facing backwards. then, it is so small that most standard size sippy cups barely fit in it. If you have wider-base cups, like Nuk, they don't fit at all. I haven't been able to find an after market cup holder that will work with it. The Britax seats that we have are mid-level Britax seats bought about 4 years ago (Roundabout, I think). So, that's what I have as a comparison point. I definitely like the Recaro better. 06/16/2015
