I decided to try the Keurig Reusable with my Keurig as the other filter I have always spilled grounds. The Keurig filter works great, I've been able to enjoy grinding my own beans for a wonderful fresh cup of coffee, and it is a cost savings not having to purchase pods as much.

I love the convenience of the Keurig, but do not like the waste produced by the non-reusable k-cups. They really should make the non-reusable k-cups compost-able. I also do not like that most of these K-cups do not produce a strong enough cup of joe. In any case, this re-usable k-cup answers all my concerns about the Keurig. It helps to significantly reduce waste, plus helps make a stronger cup of coffee. A trick I learned by trial and error is to fill the k-cup 4/5th of the way with fairly coarse coffee grounds. Then dip the k-cup in a bit of hot water to help the coffee grounds expand before using it, which makes a strong cup of coffee.

Great idea but Keurig is going to have to redesign (enlarge) the opening that holds the filter basket (same opening that holds the coffee pods) before this filter basket will ever work well. It states you can fill your coffee grounds up to a certain point but you end up with alot of grounds in your coffee. I tried putting my coffee ground levels lower and lower and lower....still grounds in my coffee. At that point, the coffee was so weak I would never use this basket anyway. They need a larger filter basket to hold the grounds and that won't happen until they design the pod opening bigger!!! Waste of money...they had to have known this issue!

Thinking that this product would save me time & money was a bad call on my part. The overall idea is a good one...use your own ground coffee and skip the "make a pot" every morning when you only ever drink a cup! However, I have tried several different grinds and can not get a good strong cup of coffee not matter what roast or grind type I use. Water spills out over the top of the unit and the coffee never gets "infiltrated" properly. I tried using less coffee in the unit and that just makes a really bland watery cup of coffee. So, for now, I am relegated to spending an arm & leg on K-cups until Keurig perfects this gadget!
