I wish I could get another of the original, gray digital luggage scale that I had before--with a hook with which to pick up the suitcase instead of a webbing loop with a slide apart squeeze catch. I threw it out because I could not get the catch to open in order to slip it into my suitcase at the airport. It finally broke after a few flights hanging from the suitcase handle. I had to open the danged thing with a sledge hammer.
(Samsonite luggage scale)
I bought this useless piece of junk the morning of the day before a trip. It took me 15 minutes to get it out of the packaging and find the instructions and batteries! Following the directions that came with the scale, I weighed my large suitcase several times, getting a different reading each time. And all readings showed 1 digit, then a decimal point, then 3 or 3 more digits. Totally unreliable, and not a keeper considering the hefty price.
When I realized that this scale was not going to be useful, I went to another store, They had the same consarned scale, So I bought a low tech, manual Samsonite luggage scale that weighed the bag at 44 lbs. With the same stuff inside, the drop bag scale at the airport, it weighed in at 22.5 lbs!
