I had the same thing happen to the steel gray towels as another reviewer. After the first wash, they came out discolored as if they were bleached. I returned the defected towels and exchanged them for the same color. Unfortunately, the same problem happened and I return the gray along with the white towels of this brand. None of the other colors would work in my bathroom and didnt want all white towels. I was really bummed since the towels are fluffy and soft.

After reading a few of these reviews, I thought I'd reiterate what some other reviewers said regarding the color not being steadfast. I ordered these towels in Spa Blue, and after the first washing, they looked like they had been splattered with bleach. Such a shame because, otherwise, they are great - nice style, soft, fluffy and absorbent. Perhaps this problem is limited to just some of the colors. I've also purchased these towels in Red and gave them as graduation gift. I never heard any complaints, but doubt that I would have (they are used by a college-aged boy who probably wouldn't care either way). If you purchase, just be aware that this could be a problem.

I loved the Linen color of the towels, and I bought several bath towels and hand towels for my bathroom. I was very disappointed by the quality of the towels. I washed them according to the care instructions, and every single towel became discolored after the first washing. They almost looked like bleach had splattered on them, and I did not use any bleach on them. I had washed a couple of these towels, and saw that this happened to them, and then washed the rest, and the same thing occurred. I will be returning them to the store, and I will never purchase anything by this brand again. For supposedly luxury towels, I felt that these were truly poor quality, especially after reading reviews that other people's towels had the same discoloration issues after the first washing.

I bought these towels specifically for the color which I previewed in the store. Note that the dark blue is more steel blue. I wash in a front load, non-agitating machine and have had no problem with shedding. I bought three bath towels, no hand or wash towels. I carefully cut one bath towel into fourths and used two to make hand towels. Then I cut 2 of the pieces in half to make 4 wash cloths. I sewed 3 wide zigzag stitches (medium length stitch) down each cut edge (don't fold over) with the right-hand stitch just missing the cut edge and trimmed any loose threads. Only close inspection shows that they are not the original manufacture finished edge.
