I wouldn't cook with anything else. The quality of Calphalon's Contemporary Cookware is beyond anything else I have ever used and it keeps me coming back time and time again. I am just now replacing skillets that are heavily used that were purchased about 10 years ago, and added other pieces to my collection. I LOVE THIS COOKWARE!

I had both an oval shaped griddle that I had bought some 20 years ago. Now, it had life time warranty. I sent it in for a replacement. The company sent me a big deep chicken broiler that did not work for me. I called in and they were kind enough to exchange. They sent me a flat griddle.... I did not realize it will not have any depth. I had originally bought my oval shaped one to bake some Indian savory baking dishes like dhokra. The flat griddle has not depth and it does not work for me. The company refuses to replace it for something that works for me. They said they did this as a one time exchange for me. I am disappointed.

I have another griddle from another manufacturer that I like, but it has a slight bump in the center of the pan, which is how it was designed. I like to use it to cook pancakes and sausage links, but the pancakes some times have hot spots and the links always have a tendency to roll out to the edges. That is not the case with this griddle. It is completely flat and makes great contact with my stove top giving me even heating and a flat surface so that my food doesn't roll around. I love Calphalon and would recommend this griddle to anyone. It heats up fast and cleans up easily.

Know what you are buying! Look at the name and the photo -- This is not a frying pan, saute pan or skillet. It's a griddle.
The edges have very shallow lip and the pan is virtually dead flat. It is on the thin side so you have to be a bit careful about heat control. You cannot over-preheat it like a cast iron pan. I find I am using it for breakfast a lot, perfect for bacon, fried eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, etc. I even had good success with polish pancakes (crepes). (A good complement to this is my Scanpan crepe pan; a little thicker and round.) I don't use a lot of non-stick pans but this one works great for its intended uses. I didn't expect it to be a frying pan substitute.
I had a cheaper brand square griddle that warped after a few uses and made cooking anything a pain in the you now what as everything slid to the edges. This one has been in regular use for about a month and I have no problems with it. Unless things go south in the next few uses, I would highly recommend this thinner square griddle for its intended purposes.
