First things first. The style is very good, the outside material seems to protect the grinder from any kind of accidents and the grip is good, not slippery.
BUT, refilling is a very tedious process because the holes are not big enough. The brand claims to give you options for different coarseness, but in my experience, no matter how much I tried to find the coarseness I wanted, salt and pepper either got to big or too tiny. This is a problem especially when it comes to using black pepper on your dish (no one wants to swallow a coarse black pepper, which I did several times and almost choked)
I thought in beginning that the fact it operates manually will add to its durability. BUT after three refills, salt grinder stopped working, and the pepper side is still ok. First we thought that some big salt salt particle got stuck in the grinder, but even after checking and cleaning, it did not work. There is no Kohl's in NYC which means I need to pay for the shipping myself to return it. In short, Bodum Bistro salt & pepper grinder which was our first purchase as a newly wed couple failed to be a keeper in two months. It costs too much for its quality. I cannot keep buying grinders every three months. I hope they fix the durability issue.
