Rated 5 out of 5 by Why I love this cutting board I have a very small kitchen with limited counter space but a decent island. I do all my food prep on the island. I cook most of my meals from scratch using fresh ingredients. I use lots and lots of vegetables so there are scraps. I always place my cutting board on the island and I have often thought how convenient it would be to be able to push the scraps right off the cutting board into a receptacle below. However, with my kitchen configuration this was not efficient. When I saw this cutting board and saw the removable colander, I thought perhaps I could repurpose the colander into my scrap receptacle. I position the cutting board on the island with the colander portion hanging off the side. It turns out that the cutting board is heavy enough and well balanced enough that this use works perfectly. And the colander is large enough to hold quite a number of scraps. This cutting board is large and it won't fit in my dishwasher so I hand wash it. No problem. I took a chance with this and it paid off. It seems a bit pricey but pretty much all the cutting boards of a good size and quality are. 07/13/2014
