The grill has a very tiny (approximatly 1") hole in the back side to drain fat. The fat must travel around, and enter the small drain, and into the grease tray. If grilling a piece of meat with seasoning rub or flour coating ,the particles will plug the drain slot and the grease will run over onto the counter and into the heating element compartment.. Also, when raising the piviting top lid, it does not lock in automatically when raised, and the grease from to top grill will miss the drain pan and it will drip onto the counter in the back. Next, I purchased the grill to actully grill and sear the meat, as advertized but the short 2 minutes searing temp is used up merely from the time it takes to open the lid and place the meat on. By that time, the sear temp has cooled and there is no sizzle to the meat and therefore, no crisp outer layer. It is not appitizing in taste or appearence. The meat over cooks waiting for it to brown nicely. The grill marks are barely brown, and that does not give a good grilled flavor. I have given it 3 tries and it failed the test everytime. Back to Kohls it goes.
