Rated 3 out of 5Â by nailobsession35 an unusual polish - fun, but not for everyone
I was not aware of the grainy texture when I purchased it but still loved the color and the glitter. The first time I used it, I was not completely sold on the outcome. However, once seeing the glitter, not overly obvious or excessive, catch the light during movement and the interesting, matte finish, I grew to like this polish much more.
I would recommend this polish on toes over fingers due to the rough texture and finish that looks best from a bit of a distance. Application can be tricky, but it works well with only two coats, dabbing rather than brushing without a top coat. It's an edgy, fun polish that I enjoy bringing out of the collection on occasion for a different twist.

I got this polish on a whim, just because I liked the color. I had no idea this is supposed to be "caviar" effect, was absolutely shocked when started putting it on. I thought somebody put sand in it as a joke. Then looked it up and wish I had some research done before buying it. It's hard to apply, looks messy and feels as sand paper. Definitely returning it. What a disappointment, the color is so pretty, why on earth would you make it with granules in it?

I love the IDEA of belugaria, I really do. Unfortunately, this polish is difficult to apply and chips very easily. On top of that, the gritty texture is not something you want on the tips of your fingers all day. I keep my nails pretty short, so I wonder if this color might look better on long nails. It's a great color for making a statement or a special occasion, but definitely not one I use regularly.

This is a polish you have to learn how to use, which wasn't necessarily obvious upon purchase. I agree with all comments about its "muchness", but I rather enjoyed the rough texture (to the point of almost being uncomfortable) because it's aggressive and messy and very in tune with my personality.
Best way to use this polish: base coat as normal, an even but light jet black color base, then add this as a topper. I agree the brush is hard to use because the polish is clumpy, but what you do is you apply once over with broad strokes as quickly as you can before it dries on the nail (and it dries fast). Then your second coat is filling in the gaps. No top coat.
It chips quicker than the average Essie polish, but it isn't the average Essie polish. It's a nice addition to my collection but very weird.
