I purchased this to replace an old wooden umbrella we had with our patio set and wow, am I impressed with the size and quality of this new umbrella! I am very excited to use it for the rest of the summer; the tilt feature and crank feature are great. NOTE: The color for the "Emerald" umbrella looked like teal or turquoise on my computer screen but the actual color is much more of a true green (that goes very well with the greenery around my backyard and landscaping!).

This seemed like a great umbrella. We bought the striped one and love how it tilts, was easy to crank, very stylish. Then we noticed that even the slightest breeze would send the thing spinning. The umbrella post is in two pieces that screw together and you have to constantly tighten the two pieces to get it to stop spinning around. Which wasn't the worst thing in the world until after three months it wouldn't crank closed anymore. We took the crank mechanism apart to try and figure out how to fix it but we couldn't get the crank to catch right when turning it counterclockwise so we returned the umbrella for a refund. Bummer...

Having a historic home, I have always purchased the wooden "market umbrellas." But they were continually breaking. I finally decided to purchase aluminum crank style, despite not being the "look" I wanted with the old house. The aluminum has a blackish powdered coated finish that has a "hammered" look, so the overall look of the umbrella is understated. The tilt mechanism works easily, as does the housing for the crank. The fabric is a nice weight, and a deep brown color. Only have had a short time, so I don't know how the color will last. The entire umbrella has a nice weight to it, so I don't feel like it's going to fall over, or fly away in a wind. Bought two. Extremely happy. Delivery quick. Price great comparatively.

I bought two of these for our back deck. They are nice and open up very easily with a crank. They cover a nice size area with shade but require a very sturdy base. I bought the matching base for these and they blow over all the time. They would work best in the center of a table or in a weighted base. The rods are already dented from tipping over in the wind so I don't know how sturdy they are either. But, they look nice. I guess you get what you pay for.
