My husband makes his own coffee in the morning, at 70 yrs of age he dislikes modern technical things. We had a 5 cup Mr Coffee maker for years, when one broke we'd get another . He likes the white color as it's easier to see at 4 in the morning, which is why I don't make the coffee. I was very aggravated because it was impossible to clean the inside water well.
We love the Black and Decker 5 cup coffee maker. Simple and easy to clean Thank You, and the price was just right !

This is the most poorly designed coffee maker I ever made the mistake of purchasing. It is nearly impossible to pour from the carafe without spilling. It drips everywhere unless you pour VERY SLOWLY. I have to use two coffee filters or the coffee is way too weak. Worst of all, you cannot pull the carafe out while it is still brewing. You must wait at least 10 minutes after it is done before you can pull out the carafe, or it drips everywhere. The only thing I like about this coffee maker is that I can get three full cups of coffee from one brewing. Size is right, design is horrible!

I've had this for several months. I only bought white because it's all the store had. I would prefer black! The only complaint I have is the coffee tastes sour. Every. Time. I have literally bought about 10 different types of coffee, used faucet water and filtered, and nothing seems to make the coffee taste good. I scrolled though the reviews, but out of all the complaints I haven't seen this one yet. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong?! I don't know, but it's annoying when I can't have coffee because it tastes gross and I wasted money on this cheap machine that doesn't work how I'd like it to! I wish I would have just spent more for a better machine. I can't return this one because it's been too long, so yay for me. Money down the drain.

I've bought many Black & Decker products over the years and have found this to be a very reliable brand - until now. This coffee maker is no longer working properly and it's less than 1 year old. If I only want to make 3 or 4 cups - the reservoir doesn't fully empty during brewing. I'm going to check the service website to see if I can get a replacement. Other than that, I was very happy - nice small footprint - no issues with "plastic smell" as many others noted. Another feature I like is that the unit seems to be weighted so that when I use the on/off switch, it doesn't push the unit across my counter top. Lots of great features - but what happened to the inner works?
