these sneakers fell apart on my fiance in weeks not months...they just don't make shoes like they used to and I will never buy this brand again.

I looked around a lot for a pair of white sneakers to wear with sun dresses, maxi dresses, shorts, capris, etc. People StyleWatch magazine showed Adidas as the "it" shoes to wear with sun dresses. I found a pair but it just looked to athletic for me since I'm not a teen. Found the Vans and I love it. Does NOT look like orthopedic or geriatric shoes, nor does it look like I should be laying up for some dunks on the court! They look really cute with any casual outfit. I haven't tried washing them yet. I do have to be careful about keeping them clean. They are a little heavier than I would prefer, but not an issue for me. Very comfortable too.

They come under so many style names with slightly different looks, each time . The manufacturer changes the quality of fabrics, and construction each time. The quality on this shoe ( black with the low white sole) is not as nice as other Van's bought at Kohl's or from another store within the same month. Sometimes in the past the other store has had some shoes that look inferior. The padded ankle area was less filled and wrinkly and the fabric was not as nice as usual. My teen wanted to keep them anyway. Overall they are more comfortable then most shoes that are out there today for everyday wear, as long as you don't have to walk far, or stand a long. time in them

I ordered the black and white pair because of the iconic style. Sadly, the shoes appearance (with skinny jeans) is clown-like. The toe area is very wide; ideal for individuals with toe issues. Strangely my heel doesn't fit comfortably inside.
So this is a quick return! A kid or teen can possibly pull this off but I prefer the thinner, "lower profile" (regarding the rubber rim around the shoe). The details online don't specify this but the shoebox does.
