Rated 5 out of 5 Great Shoe! I have only ran in Asics GT series shoe since my first pair of the original GT-2000, approx 22+ years ago. I tried several shoes prior. They fit like a glove and overall are a great shoe. I've had the occasional issues, my 2160's took nearly 100 miles the break in, and my 2170's have worn out in the liner in the heal area, causing me a blister in a recent 1/2 marathon. I have small feet and every pair up to the 2170 was a men's 7.5. I have recently started running in the new GT-2000 and just bought a pair of GT-2000-2, both of which are size 8's, as the 7.5 was too small. When I put the 2000-2 size 8 up against my 2170 size 7.5, they are virtually the same size. 03/24/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Haven't been this excited/"giddy" in year's I'm not one for writing reviews but this is a must! Since moving to CO, the push has been Brooks Adrenalin at my speciality store, which has been fine. I'm one that needs "the newest model". Advised that the above-ref. new model was "suspect", I asked for the #2000/2, to try, since for many, many yr's, I've also been good for the #2xxx's. The first shipment had just arrived that morning, my specialist had to open the freight shipment, and I'll be eternally grateful. Light, forefoot responsive, heal counter cup-like feels great, nice, snug fit in mid-section upper (tie), perfect toe-box fit. Cannot say how the outer sole will wear yet (2 day's run only). Thanks, ASICS, my running has been reinvigorated! 10/15/2013
Rated 1 out of 5 Lacks stability control and cushioning I am over 70 ( 5' 9" / 165) and have been running for over 30 years. I have been running in the GT21xx series forever. Those were great shoes. I now jog about 20 miles/week and I continually rotate thru 3 pair of running shoes. I'm a pronator and heavy heal runner When they discoed the 21xx series, I tried the GT2000. They were so bad I took them back and actually got a refund from the retailer. I then switched to the NB860 V4 and currently have over 200 miles on them. They have given me great support and cushioning but the shoe is not as flexible and comfortable as the 2170 and they seem to wear much quicker. I still run in a pair of 2170's (with over 350 miles) in my rotation but they need to be replaced, so I thought I would give the GT2000-2 a try (I now have about 28 miles on them). Well that was a mistake! Every time I run in them my knees and hip bother me and I get pains in my lower back. They definitely lack the stability and cushioning of the 2170's and the NB860's. I use the GT2000-2 now as casual walking and bumming around shoes. 12/23/2014
Rated 1 out of 5 You Ruined a Good Running Shoe Loved the 2150 and 2170. Loved the original 2000. But these -2 are awful. By back is killing me from running with them on a treadmill just once 2 weeks ago. No cushioning. And a very uncomfortable fit. Got the -3 and now I'm back in business. Been running for a week with 2 different pairs. My faith in Asics is restored. 12/03/2014
