 by kjp22 Beautiful but rusty!
I purchased these as my very first set of silverware when I moved out about 8 months ago. I absolutely loved these until the knives started rusting! So disappointing because they're beautiful. Guests always compliment them but I started noticing rusting and no amount of scrubbing or shining will remove it :( . I haven't called Oneida yet or Kohls but hopefully I can get a new set because I do love them... other than the rusting. I seem to be the only one having this issue.

I bought this silverware set almost a year ago. I waited this long to give a review, because I wanted to see how well they held up. I don't have a dishwasher so I can't tell you if they will hold up to one, but my guess is probably not. I have hand washed, and dried this silverware set right after use for almost a year now, and some of the teaspoons, and tablespoons have what looks like tarnish spots, but do not clean up with tarnish remover. If I would have know that they were going to do this I wouldn't have bought this set.

Before Thanksgiving we discovered we did not have enough flatware for everyone coming for dinner. So we bought the 20 piece set of this pattern thinking it will match enough to meet the need. It so exceeded our expectations that we ordered the 45 piece set in the same pattern. Although my older flatware was Oneida (circa 1978), I found this current pattern is much more sturdy and very well manufactured. It exceeded out expectations.

The Oneida Azalea Flatware set is really beautiful to look at, and heftier in the hand than some. Not all of the edges of each piece are finished off nicely, leaving rough edges, giving an otherwise nice set a cheaper feel. I'm using it as my everyday flatware that I can bang around and not care too much about, so for this it is very suitable.
