Rated 5 out of 5 by At first I wasn't sure.... The 1st time I vacuumed sealed some meat, the progress lights never went past the 3rd light, and it kept on vacuuming. So, I cancelled, and tried a different bag. THAT worked. Tried the original bag, and had no problems. I then went on to portion out 7 portions of pork chops, and 6 chicken wings and legs. My new machine just zipped right through the process. I believe it has to go through a cycle to 'warm up' after the manufacturing process. I had NO problems sliding the bag into the machine. I haven't tried the accessory hose yet, been having fun with the main feature. My old one still works, and am giving it to my neighbor. 12/09/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it I had the small hand held sealer and liked it so much that I decided to upgrade to this one. I am so glad I did. Unlike others I found this unit easy to operate. I haven't lost any bags or rolls using this machine. I go grocery shopping once a month and then spend the afternoon sealing everything and putting in the freezer. This has saved me so much money at the store and in time (not having to shop every week). It's also great for sealing leftovers. I passed my little hand held unit on to my sister so that she can benefit from it too. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who buys in bulk, has a home garden or just does a lot of cooking in general. 12/03/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than ever! This is my second FoodSaver. The first one died after many years of faithful service and this is one small appliance I cannot live without. We have a vegetable garden every summer and nothing keeps food as fresh as FS vacuum sealing. I pick from the garden and go straight to my FoodSaver to keep, that just-picked flavor. This particular model is very easy to use. The storage space for the rolls is a nice touch as is the built in cutter. I haven't tried the marinator but I HAVE used the re sealable, zip-lock bags and those are really wonderful. They are so handy for cookies or dog treats. When I picked this new FS I looked for value but also some upgrades and I got all that and more. I absolutely recommend the FoodSaver. 11/22/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Prepped and Ready After turning 60 last year and knowing I'll retire in two years and experience a substanial income reduction, I started trying to think of ways to economize. One way I was sure I could was in groceries. So I got my new Foodsaver and now when I cook casseroles, stews, soups, or other entrees I automatically portion it out in the pint bags (I live alone) and freeze for later use. So Im able to cut back on grabbing fast food on my way home from work. I'm also taking advantage of sales at the grocery and stocking up on items such as meat which I can portion out and freeze. I believe the Food Saver has already paid for itself in a couple of months. And I know its healthier to eat something Ive prepared as compared to take out fast food. I know my Food Saver is going to help me ease into my retirement. 12/06/2014
