This was the 2nd carpet cleaner I have owned, and compared to the first one I had, this one is much easier to use. It is nice that there is only one tank. My carpets looked fabulous after using this machine. The only downfall, and it maybe is actually a blessing, is that the dog hair(I have 4 dogs)does not suck up into the tank, it collects on the bottom of the cleaner, so I had to keep wiping it off or there would be clumps of hair left on the carpet. But I am sure that it isn't good for the cleaner to suck it all up. But it did gather all the hair so that I could easily wipe it off. I also like that it is easy to take apart to wash after cleaning the carpets.

First time I used it I had to call Bissell. They are sending me a new container for the water. I was able to get only 1/4 of an area rug complete before it stopped working.

No lights and sirens, just a basic carpet shampooer. I have had 2 other shampooers that cleaned well but didn't last long as the front snapped off (where it sucks up the water). Trying again and it seems this one is built differently--the front piece actually comes off for cleaning and if it is bumped against wall, it just snaps back on. I also like the tank in the back of the machine. One draw back, is no setting for high/low traffic areas. All in all all, I think it is a good deal for the money.
Also Kohl's was fabulous at sending out so quickly-received in under a week!

This is a very good machine. I replaced a very old Bissell Carpet cleaner with this one. I cleaned my low pile carpet that very night. It performed extremely well with just one pass (for the most part). The only thing I don't like about the machine is the fact that the dirty water and clean water share the same space (plastic bladder holds clean water, dirty water collects in the container around the plastic bladder). This makes it a bit more difficult to gauge how much clean water you have remaining in the tank.
