I got my first shark upright back in December, and I am sold on it. My son recently moved out in May, I was thinking of getting him a vac like mine, but being a young man living in an apartment, I would start him with the shark rocket. Well let me tell you when we moved him this was the first thing I opened, this amazing piece of equipment cleaned his whole place and above and beyond, I am so sold on this I bought one for my daughter who is going to college, and talked my mom into one, easy and light for a 76 year old lady. She loves it, with us having a dog I decided I would get the shark rocket tru pet stick vac.

Out of the box this little vac looked cool, unfortunately it went downhill from there. The bare floor attachment has a terry cloth pad that must stay on. It's to prevent scratches from the oddly designed floor tool, but looks more like an afterthought. The terrycloth pad hangs-up on low pile carpet & you have to switch to the powerhead. The suction is horrible unless the entire floor tool sits perfectly flat & the notch to allow debris in is literally lined up to the debris. Avoid.

This vacuum is a huge step up from the "built in" system we've had for years. I never had a power brush so most of my vacuuming was muscle-power. Being self-propelled, I couldn't believe how easy this vacuum is to use, and it is super easy to detach the long wand option. Like many other reviewers stated, I couldn't believe how much dirt I was missing. My carpets look and feel so much better! I haven't tried the bare floor attachment yet, but suspect that it will work well. Vacuum is a bit top-heavy as other people have stated, but it is not a deal breaker.

brush has two speeds, one very slow and one regular. very slow works perfect for hard floors because stuff gets sucked up instead of tossed around. you don't really have to use the hard floor attachment unless you want the pad. only bad thing is the 30' cord doesn't detach easily from the machine when you need to empty it. even if you have all the attachments off so its just the small part of the machine, you still have to wrangle up the entire cord to walk it to the waste basket to empty, or I guess take a trash can with you so its closer to you. I have 3 cats so it hits the full line more frequently than most people probably. shark, increase the capacity!
