Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Coffee Maker So far I like this coffee maker. It is easy to fill and cleanup when you are done. I did find a couple issues though. I bought this because it was a 14 cup coffee maker but when I poured the 14 cups from the Kitchen Aid Carafe into my old 12 cup Bella it only made it to the 12 cup line in my old Bella carafe.. So, all cups are not equal and I did not gain any extra cups. The second issue was the "Bold" setting using the included mesh basket did not make as bold a brew as my old $35.00 Bella coffee maker. The solution was to use an old Mr Coffee mesh basket with the solid bottom which slowed down the water flow through the coffee and increased the Boldness to the desired level. So, overall I like it for the ease of filling the water and cleaning but it is really a 12 cup coffee maker by most competitors standards and the mesh filter needs a re-design to make a "Bold" brew. 05/20/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pleased with SERVICE. We have had our KCM1402CU model for less than 2 months and I think we have a fatal error code 2. I contacted service and spoke with Amanda in TN. She was wonderful. Knew how to take care and please a customer. She made arrangements to ship me a new unit FEDEX ground which she said would arrive in 5 to 7 days. Based on Ser # she was able to ascertain that it had a manufactrure date of 12/17/13 but we just bought it in Apr 2016. Perhaps this model is susceptible to failure and they are aware of it and willing to replace without any hassle. I am a very satisfied customer based on how my issue was resolved. Thank you, Kitchen Aid for being consumer oriented and having employees like Amanda. Kudos and BZ. I hope that K.A. can identify the cause of the appliance failure and correct the problem in new design. 05/18/2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed This is my second coffee pot. The first one I set up was excited about having a good coffee pot only to be disappointed. I first thought something was wrong with the coffee maker everytime I made coffee the basket door would come open before it was even done brewing coffee. I'd end up with coffee all over my counter. So, I wrote the company & they replaced it with a new one. Well this one does the same thing. Unreal. So, have no reason to send it back to get another one that does the same thing. What a waste of money. Am so disappointed it makes good coffee when its not full of coffee grounds. 04/12/2016
