Rated 4 out of 5 by Sheer Beauty!! My normal go to shades tend to be metallics. I also enjoy a classic red, deep, rich shades (think blacks, dark blues, black/reds, etc), and a pop of vibrant teals. After a recent lay off, I found myself entering the job hunt grind. Initially, I thought a nice simple simple or even a silver could be ok, but after checking out other's opinions, it seemed that I needed to leave my bolder nail polish choices for "after" I land the big j-o-b. I read a message board discussing the topic of nail polish color choices for job interviews, and someone recommended Sugar Daddy by Essie. At the time, I had never actually heard of Essie (shock :-O face ). I was at my local grocery store, looking for shades, and I saw Essie was available. It's definitely was not the cheapest of the available brands. In fact, it was probably the mostly costly. I took a gander at the shades and lo' and behold, there was Sugar Daddy. The shade looked pale pink, but I knew from a picture that it would go on sheer. While I would normally not pay so much for grocery store nail polish (if I was going to pay almost $9 I'd normally throw in a few more bucks for clinique or a department store brand), I decided to take the recommendation and make a purchase. It's important to note that I have been burned too many times getting what I thought were "bargin" nail polishes, so I was little more willing than normal to pay more. Plus, I want to make a good impression from head to toe at any interview I go to. Will my nail polish land me a job? No, but confidence does, and I wanted to walk into an interview feeling confident about every choice I made going in. I'm so glad I did. I gave myself a nice buff and shine job before painting. I applied 2-3 coats (I think I prefer two), and used an Ultra Shiny Top Coat on top. My nails look brilliant. It's a nice sheer color - not too brown, not too pink, and not too clear. I even painted my toes the same color. Another important note to make is that I am black. My skin tone is a shade darker than Beyonce for reference. I felt that it complimented my skin tone perfectly. It's a sheer enough shade that any person of any shade - from the palest ivories to the deepest ebonies - this is a very wearable sheer shade. I typically hate having a clear coat only or a sheer polish, but Essie's Sugar Daddy has totally converted me. Have I given up on my bold hues? Negative. I've just realized that sheer can be beautiful, too. I've also realized that Essie makes a very quality polish. I will definitely purchase more of the same color, and I am looking forward to trying some of their other bold and sheer polishes. 09/27/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I work with jewelry daily and always need to have my nails looking clean and well kept. I love pink and reds however the wrong shade makes my skin tone look too dark or sometimes too light. With pink shades my finger tend to look dirty if I have the wrong color on. This shade is the right amount to bubblegum pink to make my hands appear perfectly tan. I also like to add a little bit of Rock at the Top at the nail bed for some extra fancy sparkle and shine. Never hurts to add extra sparkle in a jewelry store ; ) 07/13/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finishing Touch! This is such a lovely color mixed with Adore-a-ble. It does looks like a french manicure. I love how smooth it is to apply on my nails and its shiny clean. I feel elegant wearing these combo. 08/07/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Only sugar daddy you need! I simply love this polish! With 2 coats it looks amazing but I sometimes go with three for an extra umph if I have a little extra time and it looks even better with the gel topcoat! 08/06/2015
