Rated 5 out of 5 by I much prefer this over enamel cast iron I got this for a gift last year and I really like it. In fact, I gave away a high end enamel Dutch oven since it was just taking up space. Of course, cast iron does require more care than pots that can be thrown in the dishwasher. Even though this Dutch oven is pre-seasoned, it still should still be lightly oiled after it has been cleaned and thoroughly dried. This will eliminate any problem with rusting. The best way I found to clean the pot is to wipe out all residue then boil clear water it in and rinse. After it thoroughly dries (towel dry and 30-60 seconds of heat), lightly oil it with a clean paper towel with vegetable oil before storing it. Then the next time you need it, it's ready for cooking. 11/28/2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pre-seasoned? This oven cooks well, but it claims it was pre-seasoned. Well seasoned cast iron is black and this was light gray/charcoal and flaky inside. I didn't feel comfortable cooking in it right out of the box (like it advertises). I seasoned it with crisco. Same look. I seasoned it again. No go. So the last time I seasoned it with Coconut oil but it never really looked right. It's more of a mahogany color. I simply can't tell if it's rust, my seasoning, or what! There was a fine powder the color of rust on it the first and second times I seasoned it. This is my first cast iron pot so maybe I'm not sure what it should look like, but it cooks well and I haven't gotten sick.... I'm not sure I would buy another Bobby Flay cast iron product. 07/07/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pan Have used this pan to make swiss steak, browning it in the pan first then adding all the ingredients - stuck it in the oven on a low heat to cook for several hours...fantastic. Rinsed & seasoned and set to go for the next time around. My son used it to cook a pot roast - awesomely tender and clean up a cinch. The only reason I gave it a "good" for style is the rounded bottom makes it a little difficult to brown in. Otherwise it's a fantastic pan - especially the price...BUY IT! 02/13/2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Durable and exactly what I needed! I mainly purchased this item for frying and I love it. It distributes the heat evenly and I get a nice crisp on my food. I recommended to my mother and she bought it as well and is happy with the results! 12/16/2015
