Rated 5 out of 5Â by SpecialMom AWESOME for special needs kids with spasticity!
I LOVE, LOVE this product!! My 15 yr old son has Cerebral Palsy. He loves to color but the spasticity in his arms and hands caused him to grip so tightly that his crayons would ALWAYS break. These are a God-send. Although I don't like when they break on the inside if dropped, that's not really an issue for us. The ability to hold them and not crush them with his grip, by far outweighs the risk of an occasional break from dropping. However, he needs the short ones instead of the tall ones because he isn't sure what to do with all of the extra "stuff" that he isn't holding on to, because of their length. I do wish there were "fat" twistables. He would be able to control them easier. Overall A++
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Margosmathandmore These "pudgy" colored pencils/crayons are the BEST!
These are a favorite of mine as well as a favorite of my students. My young students like to "press hard" as they color and the blunt ends of these pencil/crayons withstand the pressure! The color glides on smoothly and the colors are striking. My only concern is that these are getting more and more difficult to find in the stores. I hope you're not cutting back on production or thinking about discontinuing this product! Please reassure me that these "chubby" twistables will continue to be manufactured and will be available to many "fans" such as myself and my students!
Rated 3 out of 5Â by mom247 Are you going to sell refills?
Although I like the idea of no wrapper, when a crayon rolls off the table and hits the hardwood floor, the crayon inside it breaks, rendering it garbage. I'm not keen on the idea of throwing away a perfectly good plastic case. Are the cases recyclable? Are there plans to sell refills? I would continue to buy twistable products if I could also buy refills. Until then, no more twistables for us. The landfills are full enough as it is.

These are a wonderful product for my 4 and 5 year old children. They're easy to use and have the great Crayola colors! We purchased these because my kindergartener had these on his school supply list.
1) As a budget conscious parent, these are an expense that may be hard to justify for future school supply lists. Had they not been on my son's list, we would have happily bought 4-5 boxes of regular Crayola crayons for the same price as 1 package of the Twistables. The Twistables are pricey for the sake of coloring.
2) I agree with the other reviews wishing there were refills available...then I can justify the 2 sets required for this year. This is yet another reason to go back to point (1).
3) I, too, have noticed that they break too easily when dropped - the frugal side of me hates to throw the broken tip away, but what else can I do?! Refer back to point (1).
