Rated 1 out of 5 by Scratches floors/Brooken hose I've had this vacuum for a little over year now. Today the hose broke. There is a wire or something that helps the hose maintain it's shape, it separated from the end plastic piece and receded into the hose. So now the suction forces the hose to close in on itself hence enabling it's ability to work. From day one when we got it, we noticed it scratched the wood floors. We glued felt to the wheels to fix this issue. Also on the hard wood floors it skipped over dirt and larger particles. I always had to go back over it with the wand to get the floors clean. I would not recommend it. 03/08/2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Vacuum for the price! Have only 1 complaint I LOVE this vacuum. It's light weight, simple to use, I love the self-retracting cord, it works well on our kitchen tile floor and short carpet as well as med length carpet d/t the adjustment capability. My only complaint is how the bag/container empties. It's a bagless vacuum. you press a button that opens the bottom to allow for the dirt contents to fall out. However, if you have pets (which we do) the hair prevents the dirt from expelling. I find I either have to pull out the dirt contents with my fingers (gross) or I have to hit the side of the container repeatedly (dirt then goes airborne and goes everywhere). NOTE TO HOOVER*** PLEASE DEVELOP A BAGLESS THAT SELF- EXPELLS THE DIRT WHEN EMPTYING INTO THE GARBAGE. reaching in and digging out the dirt around the filter is no fun. 05/15/2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasantly surprised! This vacuum replaced a Dirt Devil that was falling apart. I have a cat and clean constantly, vacuuming at least once a week. After vacuuming a hallway and the living room, the canister was 1/3 full. Not because the canister is small, but because it picked up so much cat hair that I didn't know was still in my carpet. The suction is great and emptying the canister is easier than our previous vacuum. The retractable cord is a bonus, though I do wish it had a handle for easy carrying up steps. My only complaint is that I wish the attachments locked into place, as they tend to come off the hose as vacuuming. Otherwise, happy with this purchase! 01/08/2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Less than a year and need a third belt First of all, this vacuum weighs a ton and it's loud. I can barley get it up and down the stairs let alone balance the width to vacuum them! After 6 months the belt broke and here I am 6 months later with another broken belt. Only the stairs and second level of my house are carpeted and I don't vacuum every single day. A belt should not break after only 6 months. I can never empty the dust canister without having to stick my entire hand in there to remove something that won't come out. I will never, ever buy another Hoover. I just purchased a Shark today to replace this vacuum. I wish I had done that a year ago! 02/17/2016
