Rated 1 out of 5 by Smoking after a few uses We had our previous 16 cup b&d rice cooker last for many years until the non-stick bowl got scatched. I was trying to only replace the bowl but coundnt find it .it is not environmental friendly to replace the whole set since other parts of rice cooks work fine. Anyway I bought second same model, however it smoked during the second use, we exchanged it, then the same thing happened again. I am now questioning this model are all in defect . 05/05/2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Tried and True I have been using this model for 2 years. It is the best one out there for the price. I cooked rice for 200 people and asked for people to let me use their rice cookers. I got 11 of them - all different brands. Expensive fancy, small and complicated, simple ones, digital with a bunch of buttons.... but overall, the Black & Decker Rice Cooker Plus was the hands down favorite for simplicity, quality of cooked product and durability. I will also add that I cook EVERYTHING in this cooker. Lamb chops, gumbo, curry chicken, every kind of rice, stew, even broth and matzo balls. I love this machine. My mom has one and my daughter took one to college. 05/19/2015

Rated 1 out of 5 by Defective I purchased this on Black Friday as a Christmas present for my mother. My mother opened her gift and was excited to use it today. After she put the rice and water in the pot, she discovered that it did not work. The switch does not engage the "cook" option. It remains on warm the entire time. I have to push it down a certain way and hold it in order for the cook light to come on. Of course since the rice and water were already inside, I had to tape the switch on a certain way so the cook light would engage and cook the rice. I will be returning this item tomorrow. I would exchange it but it seems like several people have had this same issue. 12/25/2014
