Rated 1 out of 5Â by Leannamari3626 Defected item!! MAKES A MESS!!!
I was so excited about this item!! When i used it the first time i noticed the cook button does not stay on, it only stays on warm. After researching online i found out this was not just my rice cooker, others had the same issue with the cook button. Of course i didnt find out the button didnt work until AFTER i put my rice and water in it, so i made due and found something to put in there to hold the button down so it would cook. There is a hole in the lid that allows steam to come out.....not only steam but white clammy steam that makes a total mess over your kitchen. I will be returning this item for sure.

The cook bowl was slightly warped which prevented the lid from sealing. I was able to press it on the sides to get it round. The cook switch would not engage because the bottom of the cook pan did not sufficiently depress the safety switch. I remedied that by placing a couple of washers on the switch. However, even though I was able to get the thing to turn on, it did not remain on long enough to cook the rice. I had to force it on 3 times and ended up with crunchy rice to serve with my otherwise flawless dinner. I returned it to the store and will not trust Black and Decker for kitchen appliances going forward.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Santhanam It just worked only once
I just bought this rice cooker yesterday and tried to cook the rice. The unit worked once only and now it never switch ON. Both indicators are off and the cooker never switch ON. I am very disappointed. The instruction manual do not give any diagnostic information. I know Black and Decker is a good company and strong in home appliance but I am not happy with this product. Whatever it is , rice cooker failing to switch ON after one use is very disappointing. I wonder what Black and Decker can advise me on this and their response to my situation.

Well, it worked well the first two times I used it.
Then I tried to use it today, and it does not work at all.
So I basically got two batches of rice for 15$ a pop, and now I have a broken appliance on my countertop.
The build quality of this cooker is absolutely horrendous. I would not recommend this product to anyone I know (not anyone I like at least.)
Frankly, based on my recent experience with this product, I wouldn't recommend Black and Decker ANYTHING, to Anyone.
How can a company release a product that will quit after two uses?
