These steak knives are handsome, sharp, well balanced, and comfortable to use. The blade is serrated near the tip and therefore requires manual filing to be properly sharpened, but sharpening can be done quickly and easily from time to time using an appropriate file. The curvaceous shape of the handle prevents the knife from lying flat on the edge of a plate, but by letting the knife blade lie in the plate with the handle resting on the edge of the plate, the knife can be set down and picked up safely during a meal. I hand wash and towel dry my steak knives. A dishwasher would dull their luster and edge. All in all, these knives offer the look, feel, and performance of expensive cutlery.

These Calphalon steak knives arrived in record time and have proven to be excellent....sharp, easily managed, ergonomic and beautiful.

great quality, very good cutting ability. the handle is a little slippery but not a big problem. the knife is light weight, if you like heft in a knife of this type not for you.

These knives cut very well, as they should, and have a nice smooth handle that feels nice to the touch. I was disappointed that one knife had rust on it after just washing 1 time in the dishwasher (and I towel dried it as soon as it came out). But I will not be putting in the dishwasher again, unless used on raw meat or something. Lesson learned, I guess. Otherwise, great knives.
