It's mostly excellent because if you use loose leaf tea it's hard to get out of the infuser. You would think just shaking it and/or tapping it against the sink would work, not so... and I didn't want to break it. I had to rinse the loose tea out. I would recommend if you're going to use loose tea use one of the disposable loose tea bags you can buy for very cheap. I will say I wasn't using Takeya tea, theirs may be already setup like that. Fast iced tea though, and I like that.

Bought 2 of these, one for self/one for son. Great idea with a few design flaws. Quality of the unit is very good, handles and lid and seals are nice. Is BPA free and "made in the USA!" Flaws: 1)The seperate holder for the tea filter (when not in use) is really ill-fitting and the tall tea filter tips over (even with the 2nd section disassembled and the 2nd section doesn't fit in the holder at all). 2) if you open the lid too far when pouring, the tea dribbles everywhere. The solution is to open it wide, then put some pressure on the top lid to hold it down a bit..then it pours ok. My only additional recommendation would have been to make a larger size (wider not taller) unit.

I was introduced to loose leaf tea this summer and bought a more expensive tea maker. While that one worked great, I was looking for another one so that I could make more than one tea at a time. This one is better because I can make and store the tea in the same container. The only thing that I would change would be to continue the mesh at the bottom of the infuser so that all the tea could drain but that is easily fixed by tilting the infuser. I also like that there is an air tight seal to prevent leaking. You can also use this as a fruit infuser.

We purchased 4 Takeya pitchers. 3 fit perfect side by side on the fridge door.
