Rated 1 out of 5Â by OlderBudweiser Setup too complicated; readouts not accurate
Instructions were poor. The package states two C batteries are needed but it fails to mention two AA batteries are also needed -- sloppy. The box states the instructions are in the package behind the weather station -- but the instructions are really in the small box with the outdoor sensor - sloppy. These are examples of lack of attention to detail. If you put the C batteries in first, it won't work; the AA batteries must be placed first! There are numerous steps that must be followed to program the device (the sensor must be a closer distance for setup). I would not want to repeat the setup process every time a battery needed to be replaced! The sunrise/sunset feature is a big disappointment, because it is based on major cities (3 in PA) and it isn't accurate even then; its predicted sunrise and sunset times were off by hours! Once setup, a temporary signal loss (blank screen) was experienced about an hour later, even though the sensor was placed outside in a protected area only 25 feet away (well within the promotional distance claim). The screen was not readable from an angle. The indoor and outdoor temperature readings were questionable because they conflicted with other test thermometers. After 12 hours, we had enough and decided to return it, We bought an "Acu-rite" model instead and experienced no problems whatsoever.
