by JerzyTomato74 This is an adorable cottage and perfect for my 2 year old, who loves it by the way! She loves being able to open and close the shutters and ringing the doorbell. There is plenty of room for her and a playmate to play but I think it would be hard for more than 2 toddlers to maneuver around in. It was very easy to put together and done in approximately 20 minutes.
One minor complaint I have is the product description states that the phone requires 2 "AA" batteries. The phone I received does not accommodate batteries and after looking at this cottage on the Step 2 website, there is no indication it comes with a working play phone. This is a bummer because my daughter loves playing with her working play phone that came with her Step 2 kitchen. She was bored with this phone right away when she discovered it didn't do anything or make any noise.

We had a play-house that did not have a floor, so it sat on grass or dirt. Our daughter & friends were always trying to CLEAN insead of PLAY. Weeds would grow in it, it was just MESSY --- this Play house let the kids PLAY without nedding to clean. We were able to get it on sale an even shipped to our house was cheaper than buying it some place else. It took some time to put together but not too much. Our daughter and friends LOVE it -- the door bell DINGS and 2 seats inside to sit down on. Our daughter is 4 and I can see her useing it till about 8 yrs. old, so for the long haul --- YES were happy with this --- wish in fact we had STARTED with it, the time wasted wih the other is just lost. Good Luck!

This is darling. Grandkids love it. Constructed easily, well made. All parts there, decals all there, shipped sooner than expected. seats 2 children, but 3 can play inside easily. Shutters open and close, doorbell buzzes, play phone is a must. The half door is perfect. I used an old plastic shower curtain and made curtains for the sides in case it rained while the kids were playing in it. Also, if you use it indoors, you can use one of those battery hall lights that have a backing on them to stick to the roof so the kids have light as well. Well worth the cost. 10 * review â¥â¥â¥

The kids have had a great time playing in the house. They use it as a play house, store, fort and may other things. It is sturdy and colorful. They love the working dore bell and phone.
It needs two people to put it together, though I did put it together by my self. It was hard holding the pieces while trying to screw in the screws, when the holes were not punched all the way threw. Some of the indents where the screws went were hard to see. Once put together, all the hard work getting it together was wroth it, when the kids started having so much fun in it.
