Don't tell my husband, but I'm in love with this mixer. It's not as loud as I thought it would be, from reading some other reviews. It's got the torque needed to power through anything I put in the bowl. It's easy to clean and fun for everyone. I don't realize how big it would be, but it still fits on the counter under the cupboard.

Works great as expected! Bought the Green Apple color. 6 qt bowl is nice.

I replaced my 25-year-old Kitchenaid bowl-lift mixer primarily for greater power and capacity. My standard 2-loaf whole wheat bread recipe calls for 3 cups of whole wheat flour and 3-4 cups of white. The old mixer whined and could barely handle the task. The new one took on the job without hesitation (the spiral dough hook is MUCH better, too). I have 2 reasons for withholding a star: it's very noisy, and, I'm not sure it could actually knead too much more flour, despite the manufacturer's claim that it has "enough capacity to mix dough for 13 dozen cookies, 8 loaves of bread...in a single batch." Maybe their loaves are smaller than the ones I make.

I bought my 6 qt stand mixer three years ago and absolutely love it. My only regret is that I didn't buy one sooner. I make a lot of cookies for friends and neighbors and this mixer has made that process so much easier. Becuase I like my mixer so much, I wanted to buy one for my brother. When I happened to be visiting him in December, I tried to make some chocolate chip cookies with an old "hand me down" stand mixer that he had. It was a miserable experience and I longed for my beautiful Kitchenaid. After that experience I decided he needed a new mixer. I am sure he will love his Onyx Black Professional Mixer as much as I love mine.
