I wasnt sure if I would like this mitt with all the sticky things on it. I thought it looked kind of strange, but .... its really handy. you cant slip and its even a bit more heat proof with those sticky bits. I made a new hang loop for mine out of fabric as I did not want that metal loop on my new wood cabinets and I hang my mitt by the oven off one of the cabinet knobs so its always handy. I found the mitt to be a nice thickness, not so bulky you cant grip stuff but enough you feel safe from heat. glad I tried this! -even tho it reminds me a bit of a disco ball :)

I bought these in blue and I find they work and look great. They're a bit thinner than my old oven mitts, but they seem to offer the same heat protection when removing hot pans from the oven. Being less bulky, I feel that I have a bit more control as well and they store a bit easier too. The silicone is a little sticky so I'm careful with things like tin foil as another reviewer noted, but I haven't had any issues. They're a bit big on my hands, but I've found the same with some others too. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I love this mitt very much. The outside has silicone which prevents heavy cast iron pans from slipping out of your hands. With the silicone and thickness of the cotton lining you don't feel the "heat" seeping through the mitt. I used it to get my pans from under the broiler and I didn't feel the heat, either. I am going to buy three more so I can have two sets (one for each hand and a spare set.) Slowly roll down to turn inside-out to wash on gentle or perm-press cycle. Dry inside out, too, half-way, then hang to dry completely.

There is nothing wrong with these mitts other than the fact the the tacky/grip squares catch on everything. You have to be very aware of completely letting go of anything you touch. It's a great idea in theory as to not let things slip out of your hands. But, one false move and you can drag a hot pan right off the stove if you are not paying full attention to your grip. Sticks to handles, tin foil, etc. I'll keep using these until I find other ones on sale. But, if you like that feature... go for it.
