Rated 4 out of 5 by Word of Warning The ice cream maker works great, once you figure out how to use it. The instructions included in the box do NOT match the items actually in the box, aside from the paddle and bowl. If you purchase this item, be prepared to search the Kitchen Aid site with the model number for the correct instructions. Also, depending on the model of your stand mixer, you may need an adapter piece (shown in the picture above, but NOT included in the box). This piece will also need to come from the manufacturer. Once I navigated trying to get instructions on how to attach it to our stand mixer, I love the item. Be prepared for a little extra legwork if you buy this, though. 06/25/2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Machine Poor Instructions Manual I received the ice cream maker as a free gift with my Artisan mixer and couldn't wait to use it. I was incredibly disappointed when I looked at the instructions manual that came with it and saw that the parts in the manual did not look like the parts that came with my ice cream maker. After searching several times in the instructions for an alternative parts section I was about to call the company to say I had received the wrong parts when my husband found a video on YouTube with the attachment that looked like mine. I guess I must have just received the wrong manual. Thank goodness for the internet I guess. Once I figured out how to assemble the ice cream maker it worked great. 06/13/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Little attachment This was very easy to attach and easy to use. Took only 15 minutes. It is a lot easier if you use a recipe that you don't have to cook. Found many on internet. It freezes very hard, but if you put a couple of tbs of liquor in the mixture this will act as a antifreeze and keep from freezing so hard. 07/26/2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Cooling gel leaks after several use It was given to me as a Holiday gift from my son. I only used several times. I kept it in the original box when not in use. A week ago, I decided to make green tea ice cream and took it out from the box, placed in a freezer over 24 hours. When I took it out, I saw blue liquid on the side of bowl. I thought at first that my son had placed blue colored soda in a freezer to cool it quick and leaked. But even after wiped blue liquid it kept coming out from the seam where silver colored piece on top meets white body. I was shocked that a product made by Kitchenaid did not last. I will not replace ice cream maker, leaking blue coolant is common issue, I found out after reading others' complaints. 06/13/2015
