Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Culinary Toy I received my ice cream maker at Christmas and I just used it this past Mother's Day weekend, because I wanted to make my mother a quart of caramel ice cream. The process was simple and easy, because I keep my bowl in the freezer at all times (remember for the ice cream to set and mix appropriately, that the bowl must remain in the freezer for 15 hours). Initially, I had difficulty with attaching the spring, but after viewing a short YouTube clip, I was good to go! This is a great gadget for making quick homemade treats. I am so excited that the weather is warm because I am putting this thing to work! Chocolate chip cookie dough ice I come! 05/14/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fun with Ice Cream! I have used mine twice and really like it! I have made the french vanilla in the instruction book and we all loved it. No trouble at all. I love that I can keep the bowl and paddles in the freezer so it is ready when you want to make some more. Can't wait to try fruit sorbets. Take the time to practice putting it together before you put it into the freezer. Like one review said it makes it much easier than doing it when it is frozen for the first time. It is simple. It was nice to know how it worked. I could never get the top attachment to stay but when you put the arm down it stayed, so now that I know that, it is no problem at all. 05/27/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Loved it at first... I received this for my birthday last July. I LOVED it and it worked wonderfully. I was able to make my favorite flavors that I can't get regularly at my grocery store (bubblegum, chocolate malt, etcetera) but after using it three or four times, I put it away. This summer, I pulled it out a few days ago and froze it, all ready to make some fresh fruit flavored ice creams. Instead what I found was a pool of blue liquid at the bottom of my freezer and an ice cream maker that only half freezes recipes now. I am disappointed that my attachment is now useless after only a few uses. Since it is still leaking the freezing agent, I assume it will soon not even half freeze anything. 08/05/2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by 2 months and having to replace it already I purchased this on 5/31/2014, it is now 7/31/2014 and it's leaking the blue liquid freeze solution from the bowl. I have used it a total of 3 times, following the directions, chilling the mixture for 8 hrs, placing the bowl upright in the freezer, etc. Upon researching this problem further, via the "interwebs", I noticed a lot of your customers are having this same issue. Why? Is this a defect that has never been looked into? I am grateful for your 1 year warranty and hassle-free replacement program but if this is a continuing problem, where does that leave me a year from now? I don't know if it's worth it. 07/31/2014
