This kettle heats water real fast, is stainless steel all around, and of very solid quality. I've had mine for two years now. It has performed satisfactorily during two winter holidays when I had a full house of guests who liked to have hot drinks all day long. My little kettle worked tirelessly and did not disappoint. I'm writing this review because I am getting another one from Kohl's online for my office.

Element is not exposed, you can get your hand inside to wipe it out or clean. All stainless except for handle. The display to show how much water is inside is not that easy to see, but it's acceptable, and you can tell by weight how much water is inside. When you've emptied it, I suggest placing a paper towel loosely inside, and hanging out the top (with top open), to wick out all the moisture. It really helps to get all the water out of the inside. If you don't do this, you will find there is often water still inside, even after a few days of drying with the top open. This kettle is a good size overall, and has an auto-off switch lit by a blue LED light.

If you hate waiting "endlessly" for your tea, and you want a kettle that you can leave out on the counter because it looks so good, this is your electric tea kettle! Fast (even when filled), sturdy, and durable (At least it LOOKS and FEELS durable. Only have had it here for two weeks so who knows?) The one thing that could have been designed better is the large appendage near the bottom that is the ON switch, and lights up bright cobalt blue when the kettle is on. It's like a big blue thumb. Easy to see, but it's plastic and I wonder if it might be subject to breaking if it's "man-handled." A little pricey, but I expect it to last for many years....if it's "thumb" doesn't break.

I like a cup of cocoa in the morning, but with the rush to get to work, I couldn't always wait around for water to boil. I tried using the microwave, but it still took a few minutes and the cup or dispenser was always too hot to handle without oven gloves. Then you have the risk of the glass sliding out of your clumsy mits. When I saw this electric kettle, I was skeptical, but since it claimed to heat water faster than a microwave, decided to give it a try. I'm very happy with the purchase. I haven't timed the heating process, but it is definitely, remarkably fast. The kettle sits securely on a base that plugs into the wall. When you lift it off, you don't have to tangle with a cord while pouring.
